Woman struck and killed by car in Gainesville
GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - A woman was struck and killed by a car in Gainesville.
Police say 34-year-old Elizabeth Hayes was walking south across SW Archer Rd, outside of a pedestrian crosswalk on Wednesday night.
They say she walked into the travel lanes of the road, and was hit by an oncoming Pontiac G6.
Hayes was taken to UF Health/Shands where she was pronounced dead.
An investigation is underway. No charges have been filed yet.
