Visit Orlando announces a record high in visitors for 2015
ORLANDO, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Visit Orlando, the group that markets Orlando as a tourist destination, joined community leaders to make a major announcement Monday afternoon. The event kicked off National Travel & Tourism Week.
On Monday Visit Orlando announced the official visitation number for 2015 at 66 million visitors, a new record. In 2014 the Orlando destination attracted 62 million visitors.
Preceding the announcement, Emmy Award-winning reporter and best-selling author Peter Greenberg talked about how Orlando tourism has grown.
