ORLANDO, Fla. (FOX 35 ORLANDO) - As the Orlando Apollos won their third straight game on Saturday at UCF's Spectrum Stadium, the real MVP was a dog named Eurie.
A crowd of over 20,000 people in the stadium witnessed Eurie's record-breaking dash across the field to catch an 83-yard Frisbee toss! Now, hundreds of thousands of viewers are praising the four-legged 'quarterback.'
J.C. Carnahan with the Orlando Sentinel caught the amazing moment on video.
Eurie is a Greyhound mix who has been working with a trainer and competing in canine disc competitions. His trainer tells Fox 35 that Eurie actually caught the Frisbee at 85-yards, making it a record in front of a live sporting event.
“We have the competition record at 122.5 yards we just set two weeks ago. He has plenty more room to make up. So we're hoping get another half time show out of this media buzz,” his trainer said on Good Day Orlando on Wednesday.
Eurie will be competing in Kentucky in April, but for now, his trainer said he gets any and all the treats he wants!
