UCF enters NCAA Tournament as 12-seed, faces ASU

This Friday will be the biggest day in University of Central Florida basketball history, as both the men's and women's teams will be playing in the NCAA Tournament -- with each team getting at-large bids for the first time in school history.

It was a big gaffe from ESPNU early Monday afternoon, when the network accidentally aired the brackets for the Women's NCAA Tournament, a few hours before the selection show was set to start.  So it was terrific acting from the Knights, as they "found out" they made the cut.  They are a 12th-seed and will take on 5th-seeded Arizona State University in Coral Gables on Friday in the first round.

On the men's side, 8th seeded Virginia Commonwealth University is a 1-point betting favorite over 9th seeded UCF in the NCAA Tournament opener.  It's the first time in the tournament for all these players, except Aubrey Dawkins.
