Troopers search for car behind hit-and-run near UCF
ORLANDO, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - The search is on for the suspect in an Orange County hit-and-run. The crash left a 21-year-old fighting for her life.
Troopers are looking for a red car that hit a woman at the intersection of Alafaya Trail and Strategy Boulevard near the University of Central Florida. They have located a potential suspect vehicle that may have bene involved in the crash, but the investigation remains active. Charges are pending.
The incident happened while she was crossing the street around 12:45 a.m. Sunday. 21-year-old Katy Nakonechny was in the crosswalk, but walking against the traffic signal. Nakonechny was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
This is the second hit-and-run on this stretch of road in the past two weeks.
