Troopers looking for hit-and-run driver that killed woman

DELAND, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - Friends spent time Monday searching the side of State Road 44 near Padrick Avenue today searching for items belonging to Catherine Flora. 

She was killed there Sunday night.

They found her cell phone smashed and her wallet 50-feet away.

Friend and neighbor Danny Heuss found Flora's lifeless body in a ditch last night after she was hit.

He said, "It was really hard hit. I don't think the driver slowed down."

Friends tell Fox 35 News that Flora was celebrating her recent engagement to her longtime boyfriend. She left a restaurant to walk home when she was hit crossing the street.

Investigators says the driver took off.
