Tree trimmer electrocuted in Deltona
DELTONA, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - A 52-year-old tree trimmer was killed late Friday morning after apparently being electrocuted by a live power line, according to officials.
The victim was working in Deltona in a lift, using a with a pole saw when it happened. A witness heard the worker scream and then the two residents noticed that he was slumped over and unconscious.
When firefighters and paramedics began arriving at 11:04 a.m., and the lift was lowered to the ground, it became apparent that the victim had been electrocuted.
Florida Power & Light shut down the power grid briefly while the victim was lowered to the ground. He was transported by ambulance to Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford, where he was pronounced dead.
