Transgender student settles discrimination lawsuit with school district

A transgender student who filed a discrimination lawsuit against the Volusia County School District has reportedly settled.

According to the Daytona Beach News Journal, the student, who is entering his junior year, will no wbe referred to as a male and will be allowed to use the boy's restroom as well as locker rooms.

The boy and his parents filed the suit back in January, saying he wasn't allowed to use the boy's bathroom or take regular gym classes, which caused him humiliation and anxiety.

The school board still needs to approve the settlement. It is scheduled to be discussed at Tuesday's meetings.
