Tracking coronavirus: 47 more deaths reported in Florida as cases top 44,800

Below is a log of the day's events as it relates to the global coronavirus pandemic. 

6:30 a.m. -- As of 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, there are 44,138 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the state. The death toll is at 1,917.

7 a.m. – The United Launch Alliance is dedicating its Saturday launch to workers on the frontlines of the coronavirus pandemic and those who have lost their lives. Read the message being sent into space HERE.

7:30 a.m. -- Democrats powered a massive $3 trillion coronavirus relief bill through the House on Friday, an election-year measure designed to brace a U.S. economy in free fall and a health care system struggling to contain a pandemic still pummeling the country.

11:30 a.m. -- AdventHealth says that the results of more than 25,000 coronavirus tests performed by the health system in Central Florida are unreliable. Details HERE. 

11:45 a.m. -- New numbers from the Florida Department of Health say there are 44,811 cases of coronavirus in the state. Deaths are now up to 1,964. 

1:15 p.m. -- Disney Springs has released what safety measures guests should expect when the entertainment complex reopens on May 20. Details HERE. 

2:00 p.m. -- Vice President Mike Pence is scheduled to visit a nursing home in Orlando and deliver personal protective equipment on Wednesday. In a news release sent Saturday, his office said that the nursing home visit is part of an initiative to deliver PPE to more than 15,000 nursing homes across America.
