Suspect throws Daytona Beach man head first over bridge, into a river, during a fight
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - A man threw another man head first over a bridge, into the Halifax River, during a fight in Daytona Beach.
The Daytona Beach Police Department reported via Facebook that Derrick Goodin fought with another man on Main Street Bridge this Sunday afternoon. They say he threw the victim head first over the bridge and into the Halifax River.
A Daytona Beach Police Officer who was heading over the bridge spotted Goodin tossing the victim the victim into the water. The police report on the incident says that the man was ordered to the ground and after several commands, Goodin finally complied.
The report also states the victim refused medical attention and declined to press charges against Goodin. The victim was defending a third person who Goodin had approached on the bridge just moments before.
Despite the victim not wanting to press charges, Goodin was still arrested and charged with aggravated battery causing bodily harm, battery, and breach out of the peace.
