Suspect sought in McDonald's bathroom explosion

Orange County deputies say they have identified a person of interest in the investigation of an explosion inside a McDonald’s bathroom.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the man is not cooperating.  Investigators are asking for the public’s help to track him down.

Deputies say he left the bathroom about 30 seconds before the explosion happened. Investigators were called to the fast food restaurant in Lockhart Sunday afternoon.

“I had an order and I heard a loud boom and smoke and honestly thought it was an electrical fire or something,” said Ronnie Holland, who says he was inside at the time.

Holland says then, someone starting shouting about something blowing up.

“Everybody bolted then and then I ran out… I bolted right out the door,” he explained.

Deputies say two stalls inside the bathroom had extensive damage but no one was hurt.  Holland says he doesn’t remember seeing the person of interest, but he hopes they find him soon.

Anyone who sees the man is asked to call 911 or Crimeline.
