Special forces training in the Phoenix metro area

PHOENIX (KSAZ) - If you've heard helicopters in the area over the past few days, it's not an invasion, it's military training.

On Thursday evening a team of helicopters descended on downtown Phoenix where helicopters were seen orbiting and hovering around the Sandra Day O'Connor Federal Courthouse.

One of the helicopters had military personnel rappelling down onto the roof of the building while others orbited the area.

Phoenix Police had both Washington St and Jefferson closed during the training which startled several residents and patrons of businesses downtown.
