SpaceX launched space plane today before Irma arrives

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Despite the incoming category 5 hurricane, Irma, SpaceX performed a launch at 10:00 a.m. Thursday.

The company launched their US Air Force space plane X-37B off of the Falcon 9 rocket.

This is just the second time SpaceX has launched a national security payload and the first time launching the Boeing-built X-37B.
