LAKE COUNTY, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - Several homes in Lake County are destroyed after severe weather passed through the area on Thursday morning.
Fox 35 Amanda McKenzie was on scene and observed several homes destroyed. She said that one home had its metal roofing ripped off, creating a leak in the roof. Nearby neighbors are assisting the owner by putting plywood in place to cover the leak.
Metal roofing can be found spread out for miles, as several homes and establishments were damaged. Power lines are also down, including next to the Tuscaloosa Baptish Church. The lines are blocking the road to some homes that were destroyed. Furniture can even be found in trees.
Neighbors believe that a tornado passed through the area, but that is still being investigated.
Thankfully, no deaths have been reported as a result of this damage.
