Rare possible tropical storm in November?

A late-season tropical wave is in the Atlantic Ocean and could become a tropical depression or storm by mid-week.

The area of showers and storms is located east of the Leeward Islands and has a 70% chance of development in the next five days, according to Fox 35 meteorologist Kristin Giannas.  If it becomes a Tropical Storm, it would be named Patty.

Forecasters predict that the storm will stay well east of the United States and move north into open waters. And according to Fox 35 meteorologist Jayme King, the incoming cold front will help keep this system away from Florida.
