Neighbors in Poinciana say they feel unfairly targeted by a letter asking parents to keep their children's noise to a minimum while they play outside during the day.

The Tuscany Preserve homeowner's association posted the letter on select homes inside the gated subdivision. The letter says complaints have come in saying the kids are "extremely noisy" and that "noise should be kept to a minimum" so that other neighbors can take naps during the day.

A group of parents contacted FOX 13, saying they felt the letter wanted to keep their kids from playing.

"[The letter said] basically if your kids are gonna be outside make sure they're quiet," said Ronald Turner. "My wife and I felt like we were being targeted because we have children."

The HOA manager said the letter's main point was to make sure children didn't play unsafely in the road and that both neighbors and the children were mindful of each other. She initially agreed to an interview about the parents' concerns, but didn't show up, calling the letter self explanatory.

Parents want an apology from the HOA. They also want their kids to continue to freely be kids and have fun.

"I want my children to be able to be children and I'm offended that anybody would ask me even to have it in their heart they they would literally ask us to keep them quiet," said parent Jamie Brauer.
