Police say man held victim captive for 2 days
EATONVILLE, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - An Eatonville man is behind bars, accused of kidnapping someone from the bus station and committing sexual battery at the Downtown Orlando Lynx Bus Station. Deputies say a victim waiting for the bus, was forced inside a car and kidnapped in the middle of the day.
According to investigators, 22-year-old Trevor Howell took the victim to the Days Inn on International Drive. They say he held the victim captive for two days in a room on the third floor, until the victim was able to escape and call for help.
"It's crazy, and you have to watch your surroundings out here. A lot of stuff going on around here," explained bus passenger Aemeti Campbell.
Hotel guests saw deputies take Howell down.
"There were three police cars sitting along the street and he was sitting in front of the police cars like crying," said hHotel guest Parak Shivren.
The victim picked the attacker out of a police line-up. Deputies say he was easy to spot, because of his distinctive triangle tattoos below his eyes.
The judge ordered Howell to be held on no bond. He's charged with kidnapping and sexual battery.
Howell has a long criminal history. He also violated probation on a criminal mischief.
Howell was told not to have any contact with the victim.
