Pedestrian fatally struck by car in DeLand
DELAND, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Authorities in Volusia County say a pedestrian was struck and killed late Thursday evening.
It happened in DeLand, on South Woodland Boulevard and Barrington Avenue. According to DeLand police officers, the victim was hit by a vehicle traveling northbound on Woodland Boulevard. The pedestrian, a man, was not in a crosswalk at the time.
The identity of the victim was not immediately. Traffic homicide investigators were on scene for several hours as northbound lanes of Woodland were shutdown and traffic re-routed. The driver remained at the scene.
