Pedestrian dies after being struck by car in Osceola County

OSCEOLA, Fla. - An elderly man trying to cross U.S. 192 in Osceola County was killed early Wednesday after being struck by a car near Pine Grove Road.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), 37-year-old James Ramos was driving eastbound on 192 around 6:50 a.m. when he struck a pedestrian who was in the inside lane of the highway. A student on his way to Harmony High School swerved to avoid the accident and went off the road into a ditch. The student will be okay.
The victim of the crash has not been identified by FHP. The crash remains under investigation.
