Active investigation at Patrick Space Force Base ends. What happened?

An hours-long investigation into an apparent suspicious vehicle at Patrick Space Force Base ended Thursday evening, according to officials.

Patrick Space Force Base is home to Space Launch Delta 45, which oversees launch operations for the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.

What we know: The east entrance gate to Patrick Space Force Base and North Housing on base were closed on Thursday for hours due to the ongoing investigation. A1A near the base was also closed for hours.

Video shared with FOX 35 appeared to show law enforcement surrounding a vehicle on base. Brevard County Sheriff's Office said the investigation dealt with a suspicious vehicle on the base and that BCSO was assisting with traffic outside the base.

What we don't know: Patrick Space Force Base has not released many details on the investigation itself, just that it was ongoing and that closed areas had since reopened. FOX 35 has reached out for an update.

What they're saying: "Because it’s an ongoing investigation, we can’t offer additional details at this time," Space Launch Delta 45 said in a statement.

A spokesperson for Brevard County Sheriff's Office told FOX 35 that it was asked to assist with traffic control outside the base due to a suspicious vehicle investigation on the base.
