ORLANDO, Fla. - All eastbound lanes of Interstate 4 in downtown Orlando shut down early Monday due to a death investigation, according to the Orlando Police Department.
Around 5:45 a.m., police received reports of a person in the road near State Road 408, police said.
When officers arrived, they found a person who was pronounced dead at the scene.
At one point, traffic was backed up to Michigan Street, before officials began diverting traffic to the surface roads and the I-4 Express lanes. All lanes of I-4 were reopened just before 9 a.m.
No other details were immediately available.
Orlando Police said the death investigation is active and ongoing.
