I-4 eastbound reopens in downtown Orlando after person found in road, police say

All eastbound lanes of Interstate 4 in downtown Orlando shut down early Monday due to a death investigation, according to the Orlando Police Department.

Around 5:45 a.m., police received reports of a person in the road near State Road 408, police said.

When officers arrived, they found a person who was pronounced dead at the scene.

At one point, traffic was backed up to Michigan Street, before officials began diverting traffic to the surface roads and the I-4 Express lanes. All lanes of I-4 were reopened just before 9 a.m.

No other details were immediately available.

Orlando Police said the death investigation is active and ongoing.
