Osceola County deputies search for suspect who tried to steal cash from game room
OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. (FOX 35 ORLANDO) - Some arcades have become targets for thieves looking to steal money.
At an arcade in Osceola County, the owner says a thief tried to blend in as he attempted to break into a game card dispenser to steal some cash.
"I was surprised how long he stayed and was persistent and didn't seem to care."
The owner, who asked not to show his face for safety reasons, says it's not the first time this guy has hit up arcades at high-end hotels in Lake Buena Vista.
Now, deputies are investigating.
You can see the suspect take his time, trying to get the money.
"Attempted to break in at three of my high-end resorts. Not successful. He did a lot of damage to the equipment... close to $10,000, but he wasn't able to get to the cash."
Instead, the owner says the suspect injured his hand while trying to break into the machine.
"At times, the suspect gets spooked when people walk in, creating a dangerous game for others. You've got kids around and don't know how he's going to react."
If you recognize the suspect, you're asked to call the Osceola County Sheriff's Office.
