Orlando weather: Cooler temperatures on the way, freeze warning in place for select areas

Orlando Weather Forecast: Thursday Night, February 20th, 2025

FOX 35 Storm Team Meteorologist Noah Bergren is tracking the Florida Freeze for Friday morning and a few sprinkles this weekend.

The Brief

    • Cold temperatures are moving in tonight, with lows in the 30s and 40s, and freeze warnings in effect for parts of Florida until 9 AM Friday.
    • Friday will remain chilly with highs struggling to reach the 60s in Orlando and mid-50s along the I-75 corridor, though sunny skies will persist.
    • Weekend temperatures will rebound into the low 70s, with a chance of spotty showers on Saturday morning/afternoon and Sunday afternoon.

TONIGHT'S FORECAST

What to Expect:

ORLANDO, Fla. - The clouds are continuing to clear out for the rest of the evening, but the COLD air is moving in. Winter is not over yet and we will for sure be feeling the winter temperatures late tonight and for the start of your Friday. 

Lows tonight will plunge 30s and low 40s across the region with clear skies through the overnight. 

With the wind kicking in, temperatures will feel if like the 20s and 30s as you step outside tomorrow. Freeze warnings are in effect for Gilchrist, Alachua, Marion and Levy counties through 9am tomorrow. Ultimately, make sure all pets are brought inside, any sensitive plants are covered, and everyone is prepared for a cold start to your Friday.

TOMORROW'S FORECAST

What to Expect:

After a clear and cold start, temperatures will still stay well below average for this time of year as temperatures struggle to make it into the 60s here in Orlando, but areas along the east coast or higher up on the I-75 corridor will be struggling to make it into the mid 50s.  

Still keeping the sunshine around all day long tomorrow, so hopefully those chilly temperatures will feel a little warmer with the beautiful sunshine on tap for tomorrow afternoon.

CHILLY FRIDAY TEMPS REBOUND OVER THE WEEKEND

Temperatures will start to rebound this weekend, reaching the low 70s. There will be the chance of some spotty showers both Saturday through the mid-morning and afternoon and Sunday afternoon as moisture gets swept from the coastlines, creating a mix of clouds and sun.
