Orlando PM Weather Forecast: August 19, 2025

Meteorologist T.J. Springer and Noah Bergren have the latest on Hurricane Erin from the Coast and what's expected as it moves up the Eastern Seaboard.

Hurricane Erin is fueling dangerous surf and rip currents along Florida’s east coast this week, with waves topping 8 feet and a High Surf Advisory in effect through Thursday.

What will the weather look like tonight?

What To Expect:

Erin continues to be the big weather story along with the impacts that it'll bring to the East Coast Beaches. The onshore flow from the NE has driven a few showers and storms and they'll continue to work toward the SW this evening, slowly fizzling out. That'll leave us with a mix of clouds and sunshine overnight with lows dipping back into the middle to upper 70s.

What will the weather be like tomorrow?

What To Expect:

The rough surf and high rip current risk from Erin are the big weather hazards for midweek.

Waves could top out around 8 feet near the coast with bigger waves expected farther east. This is why we have a High Surf Advisory in effect through Thursday evening. A few showers and storms are expected as well, thanks to the flow around Erin.

Essentially, it's the far outer bands of the storm driving that threat. It'll be slightly less humid and the air will be a little drier with the air coming in from the NNW. That'll aid in keeping our rain chances a little bit lower.

Highs with the help of the slightly drier air should be able to rise back into the mid-90s across the metro.

What will the weather look like for the rest of the week?

What's next:

Chances of showers and storms slowly start to come back up as we get more of an offshore flow in the wake of Erin. That'll drive more of a classic sea-breeze set-up across Central Florida.

The sea-breeze collision as the moisture in the air starts to rise again leads to scattered PM showers and storms. We'll see this Thursday into Friday.

Another upper-level disturbance is working our way this weekend and that should help boost our rain chances a bit. Hit-or-miss showers and storms are likely on Saturday and Sunday.

The highs are seasonable, in the lower 90s. As this disturbance works east, our chances will drop a touch in the first half of next week.

Dig deeper:

Erin continues to work up the Eastern Seaboard, bringing the rough surf and rip current risk into the Northeast.

Behind it, there are not one but two more waves that are coming down the pipeline. The one that is just to the east of Erin looks like it could take a similar path with the help of the steering flow in the atmosphere. It still could become a depression this weekend as it works toward the Caribbean.

The wave that is farther east has just moved off the West Coast of Africa. This one looks to gradually develop with the warmth in the Atlantic but it'll likely move into a less favorable environment later this week.
