Orlando Fire Department honors fallen firefighter

ORLANDO, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - On Sunday, the Orlando Fire Department honored a firefighter that was killed 50 years ago.

Firefighter John Lewkowicz was killed when a flatbed truck slammed into his fire engine while responding to a house fire. He was just 29-years-old.

The Fire Department is issuing a renewed call for drivers to be aware of first responders on the road.
