Orange Co. Commissioners approve World's Tallest Coaster for I-Drive

Orange County Commissioners unanimously approved the rezoning request for Skyplex Orlando, dubbed as the complex that includes the World's Tallest Roller Coaster.

Commissioners say the $500-million-project that would include a hotel, entertainment complex and roller coaster would help revitalize North International Drive for the better.

The decision came after a three-hour-long public hearing, where more than 40 people spoke for and against the project, including representatives from Universal orlando who have been opposed to the project since the beginning, citing concerns with the coaster's height.
