Officer thrown off motorcycle in crash

ORMOND BEACH, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - A local motorcycle officer is waking up in the hospital after a violent crash in Ormond Beach.

Investigators say that the officer was responding to a call when a pick-up truck made a u-turn in front of him. The officer slammed into the door of the pick-up and was thrown from his bike. 

He is still hospitalized as of Thursday afternoon, but he is in stable condition and good spirits, says the Ormond Beach Police Department.
