Officer charged in reference to off-duty toll booth crash
ORLANDO, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - The Orlando Police Department (OPD) reported that an officer was placed under arrest in reference to a crash at the Conway Toll Plaza in November.
In November, the Orlando Police Department reported that a pickup truck had reportedly struck the toll plaza and was on fire. The driver was Orlando officer Frederick Roll. The crash occured while off-duty.
Police say that the case was turned over to the OPD Traffic Homicide Division for investigation. An arrest warrant was obtained on the following charges:
- Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Injuries
- Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Property Damage
- Driving Under the Influence with Property Damage
- Driving Under the Influence
Rolle reportedly met with detectives at the Orange County Jail and was placed under arrest on December 13th.
Rolle had been a member of the OPD since November 2011. He remains relieved of duty with pay.
An internal investigation is ongoing.
