Two men are recovering after being shot at a bus stop.

Orange County deputies are still looking for a shooting suspect, who fled the scene around 3 p.m. Friday.  Meanwhile, they’re commending the Orange County firefighters who rushed to the scene to render aid to the two victims.

“We heard multiple gunshots fired and we looked over and saw there was people running different ways,” said Joshua Mason, with Orange County Fire Rescue.

Mason, 27, is being called a hero -- he and his crew just happened to be responding to a call right across the street when they heard the gun shots at a bus stop along Orange Blossom Trail, two people were shot.

“He was in shock he had multiple gun shot wounds he was bleeding, he  was running towards us he was kind of panicked,” Mason said.

The firefighters tended to the one victim at the bus stop, the other had victim fled into the KFC to try and get help, both were taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center, after deputies say the suspect fired multiple rounds at them and then fled.

“When we realized that it was an actual shooting situation we began triaging patients we only had two, one guy had multiple gunshot wounds to vital areas, the other weren’t as serious,  so we began to package  it up as a trauma alert down to ORMC,” Mason said.

Mason who’s been with Orange County Fire Rescue for five years  is just grateful that he and his crew got there as quick as they did.

“Hopefully we saved a life today,” Mason said.

At last check the victims were in stable condition at ORMC. Deputies say the suspect took off in a gold older model Honda Civic.  Anyone with information should contact Orange County Sheriff’s  Office.
