Murder suspect wanted, considered armed and dangerous
WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - The Polk County Sheriff's Office is searching for a man who's considered armed and dangerous, wanted on first-degree murder in the shooting death of a Winter Haven man.
Deputies say 32-year-old Johnny Ray Owsley, Jr. shot 35-year-old Patrick Adam Thrower to death Monday and fled in a green Dodge pickup. He has since been seen in a 2004 Dodge Durango, deputies say.
Deputies say Thrower was invited to Owsley's home by Owsley's live-in girlfriend, and Owsley confronted Thrower and told him to leave.
Deputies who responded to the scene found Thrower with multiple gunshot wounds to his chest and back. He died at the hospital Monday around 2 p.m.
Owsley is described as a white male, 6-feet-tall, about 180 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.
He may be driving a black 2004 Dodge Durango with the Florida tag: BTJS12.
