McDonald's including books in Happy Meals

We're loving it!  McDonald's is helping kids learn to love books.  The restaurant says it will have distributed more than 50 million books by the end of this year. The fast food chain will offer children's books, instead of typical prizes through February 15.   Three books are Valentine's Day-themed and include: Pete the Cat: Valentine's Day is Cool, Clark the Shark Takes Heart, and Happy Valentine's Day Mouse. The fourth book is the classic Paddington.

Carol H. Rasco, president and CEO of Reading is Fundamental, is praising the move.  "There’s magic in books, and the simple act of reading with our children has a profound impact on their educational development," she said.  "By giving them choices and increasing access to books, we can make a lasting difference in the lives of those who need us most."   This isn't the first time McDonald's has replaced toys with books in their happy meals.   The chain began distributing books in 20-13.
