Massive vigil at Dr. Phillips Center Monday night

Thousands of people gathered on the big lawn outside the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts Monday night for a massive vigil to the Pulse shooting victims.

It was an incredible show of support from the City Beautiful for a vigil to honor lives lost and the lives wounded by the deadly nightclub shooting.

The crowd was filled with family and friends showing their support for the lives lost. Those who attended wrote messages as a tribute, created a paper daisy chain linking names and places flowers at a makeshift memorial.

The names of each victim were read followed by bells for each of the 49 lives lost. The crowd lit candles in a show of unity.

The light lifting as the colors of the Dr. Phillips Center turned from red, white and blue to the colors of the rainbow.

For the crowd of thousands it was one message that spoke the loudest: Orlando is still the city beautiful.
