Man who hit and killed Deputy Norman Lewis reaches plea deal
ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - The man who hit and killed Deputy Norman Lewis during the manhunt for Markeith Loyd is avoiding trial.
Attorneys for Billie Jarrad reached a plea deal with state prosecutors. The judge pulled Jarrad's license and slapped him with a fine. Deputy Lewis' mother says that is not enough and is calling for tougher penalty.
Under the state statue, Jarrad received the toughest penalty possible.
