LARGO, Fla. (AP) - A Tampa Bay area man has been sentenced to life in prison for killing his neighbor.
A Pinellas County judge sentenced 62-year-old Sylvester Johnson after a jury found him guilty Thursday of first-degree murder. Jurors in a previous trial were unable to reach a verdict.
Authorities say Johnson stabbed 75-year-old William David Casey multiple times at the Palace Mobile Home Park and took his wallet.
The Tampa Bay Times (http://goo.gl/wUoybH ) reports that Johnson has been in prison five times since 1984 for convictions of burglary, drugs, kidnapping, sexual battery and dealing in stolen property.
