Man arrested for shooting on Thanksgiving at a Levy County restaurant
LEVY COUNTY, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - On November 28th, the Levy County Sheriff's Office reported that a shooting occurred on November 24th at a business called 'Melvin and Alice's Restaurant.'
The Sheriff's Office says that the investigation revealed that two victims had been wounded by shotgun rounds fired by an unknown suspect. However, investigators were able to obtain an arrest warrant for 26-year-old Anthony Walter Vessels for two counts of attempted murder.
On December 11th, members of the U.S. Marshal's Service Florida located and arrested Vessels in Broward County, said the Levy County Sheriff's Office. He is being helf at the Levy County Detention Facility on a bond of $4 million.
Sheriff McCallum said that he is very proud of the investigative work of the Levy County Sheriff's Office personnel and appreciative of the assistance provided by the Fugitive Task Force and others in this investigation.
Deputies say that investigators have already interviewed Vessels and the case remains active.
