Man arrested after triple homicide in Seminole County

A person of interest in a Chuluota triple murder has been arrested in connection with the case.

The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office said 29 year-old Grant Amato was arrested early Monday morning and charged with three counts of first degree murder.

He is accused of shooting and killing Chad Amato, 59, Margaret Amato, 61 and Cody Amato, 31 inside a home on Sultan Circle in Chuluota.

Deputies said they discovered the bodies during a well-being check after a co-worker expressed concern that one of the victims did not show up for work on Friday.

Investigators started searching for Amato shortly after discovering the victims and found him at a hotel in Orange County on Saturday. They took him into investigation detention where they started questioning him.

Deputies obtained an arrest warrant for Amato early Monday morning and arrested Amato just after 1 a.m. He is scheduled to have his first court appearance at 2 p.m. Monday.

Investigators have not said what led up to the shooting.
