Lawmakers propose UCF National Champs license plate
ORLANDO, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Some state lawmakers have filed a bill to create a specialty license plate that lists the UCF Knights as national champions.
Some argue that football team’s perfect record warrants the title, even though Alabama won the national championship game. Rep. Amber Mariano, a UCF graduate, is a co-sponsor on the bill.
“I just think that there’s been so much outcry of how UCF deserves the title, and so it’s just one way we can let UCF fans display on their vehicles,” she said.
We’re told the plates would cost $25 and that money would then go to the UCF Foundation.
The plan will need to be approved by the Florida legislature.
