Health First says that it was all splints and smiles as physicians and nurses from Health First's Holmes Regional Medical Center's Trauma Center hosted a Teddy Bear "Boo Boo" Clinic for students at tropical Elementary on Merritt Island at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 30th.

Physicians and nurses reportedly brought teddy bears and medical supplies to teach more than 100 students about checking vital signs, performing CT scans, casting, and splinting.

The students developed stories about each of their bears and their "injuries" and had the opportunity to tend to their ailments with dressing and splints. They even got to bring their "patients" home with them for further care.
