Judge expected to set a trial date for suspected Parkland shooter

The suspected Parkland school shooter will appear before a judge on Thursday.

Officials say that Nikolas Cruz opened fire inside Marjory Stoneman Douglas last year, killing 17 people.

On Thursday, the judge is expected to set at trial date.

Cruz's defense team offered a guilty plea, but only if prosecuters take the death penalty off the table. As of now, they have refused to do so.
