Interfaith service honors Martin Luther King Jr.

Community members united for an interfaith service to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Sunday evening.

During the event, people marched from the Orange County Regional History Center to the First United Methodist Church of Orlando.

Various religious and civil leaders in the community spoke and embraced the message Dr. King delivered in the 60s.

“It’s important that we understand each other, that we celebrate each other, and that we fellowship with each other,” said Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer.

The event kicked off a week-long celebration that will lead up to Martin Luther King Jr. Day on January 21.
