Injuries reported in crash involving deputy

Authorities are investigating a two-car crash involving an Orange County deputy that happened Wednesday afternoon just off of N. Pine Hills Road at White Heron Drive.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the deputy was traveling in an unmarked, beige SUV when he collided with a maroon Buick.  Both vehicles were damaged. The exact cause of the crash and the circumstances leading up to it were not immediately known.

According to a witnesses, the deputy was able to walk away from the crash scene.  A woman who was inside the Buick was transported to the hospital in a neck brace.  FOX 35 has reached out to the Orange County Sheriff's Office and the FHP for additional details.
