Initiative to house the homeless to be unveiled

ORLANDO, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - A new initiative to house the homeless is set to be unveiled on Wednesday.

The Central Florida Commission on Homelessness is behind the plan. Officials say it focuses on a 'housing first' model of care. It provides 'low-barrier housing,' which doesn't place many expectations on the people who live there.

The Central Florida Commission on Homelessness and its partners have been transforming the system of care in the region since 2014. They say that they have seen tremendous success since moving to a 'housing first' model of care.
