Ham salad products may contain item recalled over listeria concerns

The U.S. Food Safety and Inspection Service issued a warning over some ham salad products that may contain an ingredient that has been recalled over listeria concerns.

Recalled item:

The recalled item is a Newly Weds Foods breadcrumb product that may be contaminated with listeria. 

Included products:

The breadcrumb product is an ingredient in two ham salad products, which the FSIS is warning should not be consumed:

  • 12-oz. printed plastic tubs containing "RESER’S FINE FOODS Ham Salad" with sell by dates of 09/01/25.
  • 5-lb. clear plastic tubs containing "Molly’s Kitchen Ham Salad" with sell by dates of 08/31/2

The FSIS did not specify in its alert where the products have been distributed or sold. 

Why you should care:

Listeria can cause life-threatening illness, especially in pregnant people, newborns, older adults, and those with weakened immune systems. Symptoms include fever, muscle aches, confusion, and even convulsions in severe cases.

What you can do:

Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. 

Retailers that have purchased these products are urged not to serve or sell them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
