Gunfire reported overnight at Waffle House restaurant
ORLANDO, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - Gunfire rung out a Waffle House near East Colonial Drive and East Alafaya Trail overnight.
The Orange County Sheriff's Office says that deputies were called to the scene around 3:00 a.m. Monday morning in reference to shots fired.
Upon arrival, authorities say that they found 23-year-old Herbert Johnson dead at the edge of the parking lot in the grass. They say that witnesses told deputies that a argument occurred outside the business and shots were then fired in the parking lot.
Deputies say they do have a description of the shooter, but are not ready to release that information at this time. Although, they did say that they believe the suspect took off in a car with another person. They are working on getting a description of the car.
It is also reported that there was a small crowd of less than a dozen at the restaurant when the incident occurred.
The investigation is still reportedly open, as the scene is being searched for any remaining evidence. Investigators have been able to identify a bunch of bullet casings in parking lot. Next to those, was a vehicle that had a bullet hole in the windshield.
