TAMPA (FOX 13) - More than 200 Florida lawyers have signed up to give storm victims free legal advice.
The Florida Bar Young Lawyers Association and The American Bar Association are working closely with FEMA.
They have set-up a hotline to answer your legal questions.
They say the most asked question has to do with landlord and tenant issues, as well as making property damage claims to insurance companies.
But they will help you with home contractor questions and how to replace important legal documents like wills and trusts that may have been lost in the storm.
They will also answer questions about FEMA, housing, and food assistance.
Some lawyers may even handle your case for free, if they can.
Attorney Zack Zuroweste explains, "All lawyers are asked to take on cases on a pro bono basis. That means free, and many lawyers do that. They have a heart for service and they want to help people and if the lawyer feels they can assist this particular person over the long haul I believe many will do so."
The hotline number is 866-550-2929. When you call, leave your contact information and a lawyer will call you back within 48-hours. They have lawyers that speak English and Spanish who will help you make informed decisions.
