Flood watch issued for Central Florida

The National Weather Service has just issued a flood watch for much of Central Florida. The watch includes Brevard, Lake, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, and Volusia Counties until Monday evening. Widespread heavy rain is possible through Monday.

The National Weather Service in Melbourne says deep tropical moisture over the region combined with the tropical moisture from the remnants of Erika currently over Central Cuba will create a threat for very heavy rainfall across East Central Florida. Two to three inches of rain with locally higher amounts of three to five inches are possible.

FOX 35 Meteorologist Brooks Tomlin is tracking the rain on Guardian radar. Look for updates tonight at 5:00 & 10:00.
