Firefighters contain blaze at hoarder home in Gainesville; no injuries reported

Units from Alachua County Fire Rescue and Gainesville Fire Rescue responded to a residential fire Sunday on SW 69 Terrace, quickly containing the blaze and preventing it from spreading to neighboring homes.

First responders arrived to find a two-story, row house-style structure with heavy smoke and fire visible on the first floor, extending to the second. Fire crews were able to extinguish the flames, limiting the damage to the unit where the fire originated.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and no other homes or structures were affected. However, officials noted considerable damage inside the home, which was identified as a "hoarder residence."

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Alachua County Fire Marshal.
