Family seeks dog that ran from crash scene
ORLANDO, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - This isn't a typical "lost dog story." A traumatized family dog named Lacey bolted from a car after it was involved in a bad accident on State Road 408.
Desperate to find Lacey, her owner have searched the area near Orange Blossom Trail and put up fliers. They say they aren't sure what to do next.
"My dad was transported to the hospital, but they had to break the back window to shut the vehicle off. One of our dogs jumped out and ran down the on-ramp," explained Jessica Cubbedge, a daughter of the crash victims.
She said this all happened last Friday, when her parents crashing near Camping World Stadium. No one has seen Lacey since.
"She just took off down the on-ramp. She was calling her, and I think it's just fight-or-flight. She just took off," she said. "I know she's probably scared and hurt, so we'd like to have her back and be able to take care of her."
She said it would especially mean a lot to her father, who is still recovering from the crash.
"Lacey was my dad's dog, so I know if we find her, that will probably bring him a lot of happiness and joy."
