Dog's leg amputated with garden shears, kitchen knife in Hamtramck
HAMTRAMCK, Mich. (WJBK) - Police are searching for who is responsible for amputating a dog's leg in Hamtramck.
According to the Michigan Humane Society, the black Labrador retriever's right-rear leg was amputated using garden shears and a kitchen knife.
Officials believe the amputation took place before noon on Wednesday.
The animal was found near Conant Street and Holbrook Avenue and is now being treated at Michigan Humane Society's Mackey Center for Animal Care in Detroit.
Law enforcement and the Michigan Humane Society are working together to identify a suspect.
