Dog gets second chance after being rescued by deputy

A dog left to die on the side of the road is now getting a second chance.

Vader escaped from a yard but an off-duty Seminole County sheriff's deputy found that dog, near death. The owner says that deputy saved her pet's life.

"Everyone was there ready to help and go the extra mile, and I think that's what was the most heartwarming, touching thing as a person they don't know. They've never met me. They didn't have to do anything for this poor dog sitting in the street," said owner Katherine Mishon.

After six weeks of recovery, Vader is now happy and healthy.
